Where to buy

Starting in 1867, the shop became a luxurious place where prestigious owners would meet. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the brand launched into leather goods, bags, belts, leather gloves, and everything succeeded! It was in the 1950s that Hermès turned to perfumery. In 2012, Hermès unveiled “Jour d'Hermès”, an ultra-feminine fragrance. In 2014, the house offered a variation with “Jour d'Hermès Absolu”. Finally, in 2015, Hermès presented a new flanker, “Jour d'Hermès Gardénia”.

Hermès for a day, Hermès forever

After having largely devoted itself to men, Hermès decided to feminize its image by putting women in the spotlight. “Jour d'Hermès” casts a magnificent gaze upon women that literally enhances their beauty. A floral and sensual fragrance signed Jean-Claude Ellena. A year later, he offered “Jour d'Hermès Absolu”, a fragrance even more luminous and intense than its predecessor. A year after that, the house unveiled “Jour d'Hermès Gardénia”, an essence with contrasting light, both sun-kissed and vegetal. According to Jean-Claude Ellena, gardenia is a flower that radiates as much through its beauty as its scent is the essence of daylight, and he goes on to state that he wanted to express, through flowers and nothing but flowers, the essence of femininity. The fragrance of “Jour d'Hermès Gardénia” unfolds from flower to flower, moving from rose to the intoxicating scent of tuberose and jasmine.

Jour d'Hermès Gardénia and its marriage of white flowers

Here, the white floral facet is pushed to its zenith. Both sun-kissed and vegetal, gardenia offers all its perspectives. “Jour d'Hermès Gardénia” opens on the green notes of galbanum. These are paired with aldehydic notes and notes of rhubarb. The heart is nothing short of feminine, subtly blending gardenia, tuberose, jasmine, rose, and ylang-ylang. The base is powdery and sensual, thanks to the presence of vanilla, iris absolute, and white musks. As for the bottle, it takes up the codes of its predecessors. It retains the ultra-square base, the roundness of its curves, as well as the drop of light set at the bottom of the bottle. The color of the pale yellow nectar illuminates the bottle like a gentle morning sunbeam.

A new day dawns for Hermès's famous fragrance with “Jour d'Hermès Gardénia”. Just as feminine and luminous as ever, “Jour d'Hermès Gardénia” honors gardenia, this pretty and delicate white flower. Because “Jour d'Hermès Gardénia” highlights the softness and beauty of women, this new day brings white flowers so that women may shine even brighter.
