Where to buy

The house grew and enjoyed unfailing success, chiefly from the 1867 Universal Exposition onward, where the Hermès brand won first prize. Hermès entered perfumery in 1951 with Eau d’Hermès. After numerous olfactory successes, Hermès unveiled Elixir des Merveilles in 2006. Luminous and luxurious, this fragrance is more effective than a magic wand...

The magical world of Élixir des Merveilles

Released in 2006, Elixir des Merveilles draws directly on the luxurious world of the house of Hermès. It plunges us into a luminous, largely unsuspected world. In 2004, the house had introduced its Eau des Merveilles. A disconcerting fragrance in which everything is built in reverse, showcasing woody-amber accents that are usually found in base notes. Surprising and unexpected, Eau des Merveilles was created without a single floral note, which is very rare for a feminine fragrance. More gourmand and more magical than its predecessor, Élixir des Merveilles is at once sparkling, velvety and creamy. This cloud of fantasy carries us into a surprising world revealing some of the house’s finest creations. Its round bottle is hypnotic and seems to come straight from the sky. Its sparkling stars amaze and dazzle endlessly. Like its predecessor, Élixir des Merveilles contains no flowers whatsoever. It is nonetheless filled with boldness and emotion.

The spicy notes of Élixir des Merveilles

Élixir des Merveilles combines warm and cool tones. Its impression is cushioned, enveloping and intimate. Élixir des Merveilles opens on very fresh notes of mandarin and Italian lemon. These are joined by orange citrus pulp and chocolate notes. The heart resembles a biscuit made of tonka bean, vanilla and sandalwood, with hints of milk and sugar. The base is oriental, woody and yet sensual, with the presence of ambergris, incense balsam and oakmoss. The round bottle echoes the codes of its predecessor. Its round, singular shape seems to want to offer us a new vision of the world. This sphere is scattered with a starry sky where the stars sparkle like tiny lights. The name of the fragrance is set upon it in the shape of a rainbow. The bottle displays a vivid orange hue, like a concentrated color of happiness that lights up the entire sphere. It is topped with a silver cap containing a built-in spray.

After Eau des Merveilles, Hermès introduced Élixir des Merveilles. While it remains just as surprising as its predecessor, it is nonetheless intended to be more intense and more powerful. An elixir that carries us deep into the starry night, where the most mysterious secrets are revealed. Élixir des Merveilles transports us in an instant into a world of dreams, just as a magic wand would.
