de Lune

Where to buy
Founded in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier, the house of Cartier was taken over in 1899 by his three sons. They developed the house internationally, notably by establishing Cartier jewelry in royal courts. This is why the house of Cartier is said today to be “the jeweler of Kings and the King of jewelers”. Cartier entered the world of perfumery in 1981, with “Must”. In 2011, the brand unveiled “Cartier de Lune”, a fragrance inspired by the silvery dream of a radiant moon.
The moon according to Cartier
“Cartier de Lune” is a feminine, sensual and enigmatic fragrance. “Cartier de Lune” explores the mysterious seduction of full moon nights. Mathilde Laurent, a talented perfumer, stated during the creation of the perfume that she had imagined a garden of flowers in a starry domain. Her source of inspiration is the moment when each flower, bathed in moonlight, is seduced by the softness of the night. It then exhales all its fragrances like an ode to the moon. Cartier here combines the luminosity of the moon with the softness of flowers. A fragrance that draws close to nature at nightfall, when blooming becomes milky and starry with a nascent sensuousness. About “Cartier de Lune”, Jean Cocteau stated that Cartier is a subtle magician, who holds pieces of the moon together with threads of sunlight.
The rare and delicate notes of “Cartier de Lune”
The fragrance of “Cartier de Lune” is defined as a rare and delicate sensation, like a floral caress of moon reflections and enchantments. Described as a floral and transparent perfume, “Cartier de Lune” transports one into an ultra-romantic setting. “Cartier de Lune” opens on fresh, slightly peppery scents. The very airy heart is composed of lily of the valley, cyclamen, wild rose, honeysuckle and rose. The base is refined, revealing more musky and woody fragrances. The bottle, with its clean lines, is dressed in a light blue gradient. In fact, the bottle reveals crystalline tones ranging up to the blue of moonlight. Its metal cabochon completes the beauty of the bottle with a touch of feminine elegance.
In 2011, buoyed by great olfactory successes, the house of Cartier presented “Cartier de Lune”. Feminine and sparkling, this nocturnal fragrance is cradled in naturalness and grace. It is like a cluster of white flowers delicately settling on the skin. “Cartier de Lune” delightfully reveals the hidden face of the moon, its last quarter. With its softness and femininity, “Cartier de Lune” is a delightful representation of moonlit nights. On the program: mystery and sensuality.
