The 2018 Eau de Parfum Légère Olympéa Aqua by Paco Rabanne. After the Black XS duo, followed by Lady Million and 1Million, Paco Rabanne decided to deliver to us the image of another mythical couple. Invictus made its appearance in 2013 and was quickly followed by Olympéa, in 2015.
With the couple of Greek gods Madame Olympea and Monsieur Invictus, the perfume house Paco Rabanne has once again demonstrated that it knows how to innovate and leave a mark, both through offbeat communication and original fragrant compositions. In 2018, the goddess Olympea becomes a siren thanks to the talents of her inimitable perfumer Loc Dong, who managed to carry her for Olympéa Aqua into the fresh waves of the Great Blue.

The house Paco Rabanne had nonetheless offered a lovely fragrance, Calandre, as early as the 1970s, along with other beautiful fragrant UFOs such as Ultraviolet. But the house had to wait until the 2000s to finally be recognized at its true worth thanks to XS but especially to Black XS. Then the couples One Million-Lady Million, Invictus and Olympéa made Paco Rabanne fragrances a staple of contemporary perfumery.
Olympéa, the beautiful Greek goddess whom no one can resist, was composed by Loc Dong, Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion in 2015 to be launched alongside her fragrant champion companion Invictus. Olympea, just like Invictus, was crafted so as to bring forth multiple faces from the bottle. Sometimes gourmand, sometimes fresh, sometimes sensual, Olympea and its flankers play with the many facets of its composition to surprise us more each year.
If in 2016 the beautiful Olympea offered itself in an aquatic version, Olympea Aqua, the new 2018 bottle, though bearing the same name, Olympea Aqua 2018, will not take us into the same waters. Indeed, for Olympea Aqua 2018 the dive takes place in seawater and the journey between flowers, fruits and salted waters allows us to dream of beautiful fragrant promises…

While the goddess Olympea offered us amber, gourmand but also floral and exotic scents, for this Aqua version Loc Dong has imagined a fragrance that is just as seductive but more iodic, heightening the intense effect of the famous salted vanilla thanks to an unprecedented ambergris note and an unmatched marine power.
Loc Dong stated about Olympea that he had deliberately given the vanilla of Olympea a resolutely modern twist, drawing on his childhood memories by the water in Vietnam. This time the salted vanilla note is the star of Olympea Aqua 2018.
Thus the freshness of Olympea is magnified from the top notes with lemon blossom and orange. In the heart we find the beautiful vanilla accompanied by a suave and delicious jasmine, the signature heart of the entire Olympea range. Finally, the sensuality of cashmere wood is, for this opus, Olympea Aqua, counterbalanced by ambergris, which brings an additional animalic and iodic force to this lovely floral and fresh fragrance.
