Narciso

The Narciso fragrance by Narciso Rodriguez is a juice in the image of all Narciso Rodriguez creations: infinitely elegant. It is intended for women and proves particularly delicate, woven of flowers and amber nuances.

While Narciso Rodriguez's couture collections are famous worldwide for their sensuality and femininity, the designer chose to transfigure his unique style into a fragrance, For Her, released in 2003. A fragrance paying tribute to a woman he loved dearly, For Her would be more mysterious and sensual than ever. Relatively little known at first, Narciso Rodriguez fragrances would take off in the 2010s, and the magnificent Narciso Eau de Parfum, composed by the creative perfumer Aurélien Guichard, would add a new prestige bottle to this fine story…

Narciso Eau de Parfum, or Aurélien Guichard's ode to feminine charms for Narciso Rodriguez

The haute couture label of designer Narciso Rodriguez is particularly linked to his story of friendship with a famous descendant of an American president, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. She is the one who made him known as a designer through her wedding, and it is also for her, under tragic circumstances, that he would have his very first fragrance composed as a tribute to this great lady: For Her.

With For Her, Narciso Rodriguez's perfumery found its voice between sensuality, femininity and the amber notes so dear to the great designer. However, it would not be until 2014 that a new Narciso Rodriguez creation for women would emerge, with Narciso, composed by the highly inventive Aurélien Guichard.

Narciso Eau de Parfum was created by Aurélien Guichard with the aim of being the ultimate object of seduction. It is women's secret weapon, concealed within delicate floral notes only to burst forth in almost masculine woody accords, as if Narciso Eau de Parfum were a shirt stolen from a man and tied nonchalantly with exquisite feminine grace…

It is true that the theme is bold, more commonly used in masculine codes. Few feminine fragrances use woody notes. Now, the vanilla and the flowers (rose and gardenia, editor's note) feminize the whole, even though they play a minor role. Aurélien Guichard on Narciso Eau de Parfum.

A sensual chypre between delicate roses and feminine vetiver, named simply Narciso for greater mystery…

Aurélien Guichard is said to have composed for Narciso Eau de Parfum a fragrance that deliberately plays with masculine-feminine style. Floral accords are disrupted by intense woody notes, amber woods answer fruity notes as if to surprise all the better, as if to seduce all the better through surprise. Whatever the case, the boldness of this composition for Narciso is evident, but what could be more charming than a woman who seduces through mystery and the contrast between strength and delicacy?

Indeed, Narciso Eau de Parfum first offers fresh notes of bergamot and floral notes of gardenias, Bulgarian roses and orange blossoms. These fresh, feminine opulences are sweetened with a touch of blackcurrant, as if to better deceive the masculine prey with soft, sweet floral threads.

Yet in its depths, Narciso Eau de Parfum bursts with the woody edge of vetiver and cedar, notes rare in feminine perfumery. But soon the sensuality of amber woods, vanilla, patchouli and white musks envelops the Narciso woman in a halo of irresistible sensuality, and there, there is no escaping it…

I wanted to create a very sexy fragrance that would turn a man's head. Narciso Rodriguez on Narciso.
