Explorer Infinite joins the Montblanc Explorer line in 2026, after Ultra Blue, Platinum and Extreme. Jordi Fernandez and Antoine Maisondieu, who composed the original Explorer, sign this reinterpretation: an opening of lemon and blackcurrant, a patchouli that carries the depth, a musky base credited with the longevity.
Lemon and blackcurrant
The opening returns to a lemon essence that the house describes as luminous and to blackcurrant berries presented as juicy. The duo makes for a fresh, fruity entrance, more direct than the bergamot opening of the 2018 Explorer.
Patchouli
The heart belongs to patchouli. Montblanc states nothing else about it, underscores its depth and gives it all the room.
Musky notes
The base rests on musky notes whose sensual warmth the house describes and to which it credits the longevity of the sillage. Nothing else is announced at this tier.
Outside the announced accord
Several listings add bergamot, lavender, nutmeg, cedar and amber, without Montblanc placing them in tiers. Three of these raw materials do appear on the label, which makes them plausible, but their place in the accord remains undeclared: the notes field does not carry them.
What the label declares
The label declares lemon oil, bergamot oil, bitter orange oil, acetyl cedrene which carries the cedarwood, patchouli oil and lavender oil. Vanillin adds a sweet touch that the announced accord omits.
Linalool, limonene, coumarin, citral, eugenol and geranyl acetate round out the listed allergens. A UV filter and a stabilizing citrate protect the juice from light, without contributing to the scent.
