Escada offers an escape to Miami in 2019. The Escada brand is initially known for its luxurious clothing. Nevertheless, since 1993, it has also been highly anticipated for each of its summer fragrances.
Miami Blossom, the new fruity fragrance from the house of Escada
Every year, for more than 20 years now, the Escada brand has treated us to a new creation, specifically developed for the summer season. Since the creation of the very first Chiffon Sorbet, this tradition has continued, becoming along the way a ritual of worldwide renown, eagerly awaited by fashionistas and collectors. While winter is still in full swing, Escada has just presented its new composition, coming for summer 2019. Its fragrance is named Miami Blossom, and presents itself as a fruity and infinitely sun-drenched cocktail. So, what about this fragrance built essentially around the scent of pineapple?
Pineapple at the center of Miami Blossom's composition
Escada sets the tone right away, from the very sight of its bottle. Its fragrance Miami Blossom has made pineapple a main ingredient. Thus, this small exotic fruit proudly displays itself on the front of its bottle. Well known in perfumery but also on our plates, pineapple is renowned for its juicy flesh and its sweet, tangy scent. This tropical plant arrived in France thanks to Christopher Columbus, who first imported it from Guadeloupe. Today, pineapple is among the fruits commonly consumed in France. Highly regarded for its antioxidant richness and nutritional properties, it is also delicious to eat. In perfumery, and notably in Escada's new Miami Blossom, it brings a fruity and sun-kissed breath. Its subtle aromas transport us with a single breath to a distant, tropical elsewhere. However, like most fruits, pineapple cannot be distilled directly from its flesh. Its scent is therefore reproduced in the laboratory.
The other ingredients making up this sun-drenched cocktail
Miami Blossom is a rich fragrance, which makes pineapple its main raw material, but which enhances it with the addition of a whole host of other ingredients. Thus, its fresh scent opens on a fruity and invigorating cocktail. Miami Blossom blends orange, blueberry and watermelon. It is a true delight, light and spontaneous. Pineapple gains prominence at the heart. At this point, Miami Blossom becomes more sun-kissed and opulent. Its floral breath emanates from a trio of tiare flower, jasmine and tuberose. Miami Blossom gradually becomes woodier, gaining longevity in the process. It rests on a creamy base of sandalwood, accompanied by a more musky, animalic scent of ambroxan and musk.
Miami Blossom, a fragrance signed by Caroline Sabas
To craft the formula of Miami Blossom, the Escada brand called upon the perfumer Caroline Sabas, whose name is still little known in perfumery, but to whom other great successes are owed, such as the famous CkFree by Calvin Klein. Accustomed to collaborating with major luxury houses, and widely recognized for her talent within Givaudan, a giant of olfactory creations, Caroline Sabas this time takes us on a journey to the heart of Miami, on a beautiful summer day.
