Extatic Gold Musk by Balmain is a brand new fragrance that follows a fairly recent collection of scents. This collection came to life in 2014 with the appearance of the Extatic fragrance. It embodied to perfection the audacity and elegance of the Balmain woman. Then, that same year, an Intense Gold version soon followed. This one amplified its jasmine scent while warming it with vanilla, heliotrope, labdanum and amber. Likewise, in 2015, a more floral and lighter eau de toilette appeared. It is in this continuity that the new Extatic Gold Musk was born, with its more musky and sophisticated floral scent.

The rich scent of Extatic Gold Musk

To create this brand new version of Extatic, Olivier Rousteing, Balmain's artistic director, called on perfumer Sonia Constant. She chose to create a juice concentrated in femininity and sensuality. It opens on a very invigorating and striking scent of bergamot. This ingredient, resulting from the crossing of the lemon tree and bitter orange, brings a zesty, tangy and sparkling scent to the whole. What's more, it is paired with the power of aldehydes, which nonetheless add a touch of warmth to this sparkling opening. The whole then evolves toward a softer, more tender scent. This is made up notably of cashmere wood, an ingredient with an aroma that is both spicy and elegant, whose scent is particularly sensual. This is then paired with the exoticism of tiare flower. Finally, Extatic Gold Musk reveals a particularly enveloping sillage. It is notably steeped in sandalwood, with its creamy, warm and woody character. It gives off a smoky, almost amended scent. Likewise, it is here that a key ingredient of this composition truly bursts forth, namely musk. It gives off an almost animalic and truly sensual scent. Its intensity is a call to love. In this sense, Extatic Gold Musk becomes a fragrance of extreme seduction.

The elegant design of Balmain's new bottle

Of course, to make the fragrance even more irresistible, Olivier Rousteing crafted an exceptional bottle for it. It combines a very rock and modern spirit with highly refined elegance. Its silhouette features pronounced shoulders and a very slender shape. In this sense, this case almost evokes the figure of a model. It is a perfect embodiment of the Balmain style. In this case, it delights in playing on the contrasts of its different materials. The brilliance of the gold is set against the matte finish of its white lacquer. The latter captures attention and displays great femininity. The whole is then topped with a precisely chiseled cap. This is engraved with the brand's name. It sits halfway between a piece of jewelry and a silk ornament. It thus embodies a direct link with couture. Its look is sophisticated. It reflects the Balmain woman, perfectly combining audacity and elegance.
