Dominique Ropion, once again at the helm of the Eau de Toilette Live Irresistible

To create this very special eau de toilette, Givenchy once again called on perfumer Dominique Ropion. Indeed, it was already he who created the Eau de Parfum as well as Very Irresistible (2003), in collaboration with Carlos Benaïm and Sophie Labbé. Passionate about physics and chemistry, Dominique Ropion started out by weighing the formulas of Jacques Polge, the official perfumer of Chanel. Since then, Dominique Ropion has established himself as an extraordinary perfumer. Extremely precise, he possesses a unique expertise. Dominique Ropion is regarded as a quiet talent. Among his favorite materials are jasmine, rose, sandalwood, orange blossom and blackcurrant blossom. Dominique Ropion is behind some very beautiful fragrances, including Pure Poison by Dior, Lady Million by Paco Rabanne and La vie est Belle by Lancôme.

Live Irresistible, the Eau de Toilette, notes both floral and fruity

Dominique Ropion thus chose to open his fragrance with an association of fruits, which offers a sweet and very gourmand aspect. To do this, he combines crisp pear, green apple, raspberry and lemon. Pear originates from Central Asia. The Greeks and Romans were the first to adopt it. It was King Louis XIV, however, who made it popular. There are several varieties of pear, but the best known is Conference. In perfumery, pear releases tonalities that are at once tart, green and floral. The heart is ultra feminine, brimming with rose, enhanced by a small hint of chili pepper. Finally, the base is meant to be highly sensual, as it combines powdery musks, amber woods, patchouli, vanilla and caramel for a final touch of gourmand character. Amber woods are highly prized at present. They are also called woods that sting. They have the advantage of reinforcing and enhancing an oriental, sensual or floral sillage. The scent of amber woods is close to that of ambergris. Amber woods are also reproduced in the laboratory using numerous synthetic compounds. They release tonalities that are at once dry, dusty, yet also very warm and powerful. As for the bottle of Live Irresistible Eau de Toilette, it takes up the codes of its predecessor and thus remains very elegant. For the occasion, it is tinted a very luminous pink.
