Infusion de Cèdre

Prada and its masculine scent of iris and cedar. After giving rise to the fragrance Infusion d'Iris in 2007, the house of Prada wasted no time developing its worthy successor. Thus Infusion d'Iris Cèdre was created. Far from any trends, this juice belongs to the Infusions collection by Prada.

Released in 2015, Infusion Iris Cèdre is a reinterpretation of the magnificent Infusion Iris released in 2007. Defined as a precious nectar, Infusion Iris had honored one of the noblest raw materials in perfumery, iris. Because this creation was bold, the house Prada decided to repeat the experience and extend the original fragrance into Infusion Iris Cèdre. To create this unisex composition, the house of Prada once again turned to Daniela Andrier.

Daniela Andrier and the house of Prada craft Infusion d'Iris Cèdre

Born in Germany, Daniela Andrier was originally headed toward studies in philosophy. On a whim, she decided to join the Givaudan perfumery school and has never left the company since. Recently honored with a medal by the Minister of Culture, Daniela Andrier leads a balanced life between her career as a perfumer and her 4 children. She is regarded as a bold, sensitive, and highly talented nose. Empathetic and reserved, Daniela Andrier is both passionate and thoughtful. She has created the majority of Prada's fragrances. She greatly admires Miuccia Prada. Between the two of them, it is as though there exists a poetic bond. Regarding Miuccia Prada, Daniela Andrier states that she is a very free, courageous woman, who searches, finds, takes risks, does not count the cost, inspires dreams and embodies luxury… if there is one brand that represents luxury to her, it is Miuccia Prada's own. There is no doubt their collaboration will continue for a long time. Daniela Andrier is behind Prada fragrances such as Candy Kiss and Luna Rossa Sport, as well as other fragrances such as Emporio Elle by Armani.

Iris Cèdre, a floral and woody softness

For this new infusion, Daniela Andrier decided to honor the natural character of iris and the authenticity of cedar. Both sensual and delicate, Infusion Iris Cèdre is a fragrance crafted with refinement. The entire composition revolves around iris Pallida, a very noble flower. Iris Pallida is considered the blue gold of perfumery. It is actually its rhizomes that are worth their weight in gold. No less than 13 tons of fresh iris rhizomes are needed, along with 5 to 6 years of patience, to obtain a single kilo of iris absolute. Along with oud, iris is the most expensive ingredient in niche perfumery. Iris is used for its powdery, green, woody tones, as well as its sweet violet-like scent. Here, iris meets cedar. A noble material par excellence, cedar is highly prized in perfumery. Both soft and refined, cedar finds its place in numerous compositions. Cedar has the very characteristic scent of the pencil shavings from childhood. However, one should not confuse Atlas cedar with Virginia cedar, two different varieties. There is a third, much less commonly used category of cedar, white cedar, also known as Canadian cedar. Here, Infusion Cèdre Iris also contains other noble ingredients such as neroli with its Tunisian brightness, not to mention benzoin, which lends a final touch of sensuality to the entire composition.
