It was as a family that Isabelle and Hubert d'Ornano decided to create their own high-end cosmetics brand, in 1976. Then, little by little, Sisley rose to the highest spheres of the global luxury industry, also earning a place among top-tier perfumers. In 2023, the Sisley collection is enriched with an assortment of six new unisex fragrances: the Eaux Rêvées de Sisley. Among them, one fragrance is specifically dedicated to the founder of the house: L'Eau Rêvée d'Hubert de Sisley.
Hubert d'Ornano was a visionary man, gifted with a true genius for cosmetic creations and for perfumery. Thus, from a small family business named Sisley, he built a true luxury empire. In 2023, the Sisley house therefore decided to pay tribute to him in a fragrance named L'Eau Rêvée d'Hubert. It comes from an assortment of six unisex fragrances: the Eaux Rêvées de Sisley. Here is our review of this very personal composition.

L'Eau Rêvée d'Hubert, a dive into the intimate world of Sisley
L'Eau Rêvée d'Hubert is a tribute to the founder of Sisley and to his uncommon personality. Indeed, the story goes that Hubert d'Ornano was a visionary figure, always very elegant. Yet, paradoxically, he was also greatly drawn to nature. It is therefore this marriage of authenticity and refinement that is found in this fragrance. As proof, when he wrote his memoirs, in 2008, he explained: beauty is the harmony of all domains: above all in a face, but also in art, poetry, music, a simple flower, a landscape… These are therefore all the beautiful things that Sisley wished to highlight in the Eaux Rêvées collection. Each of the six fragrances that make it up is like a dream. All these fragrances are a blend of memories and sensations. They express the idea of an idealized imagination, in which nature dominates.
Geranium as you have never seen it before
L'Eau Rêvée d'Hubert is a floral fragrance. Yet, it is not a feminine fragrance. In reality, it is built around geranium, also regarded as the masculine rose. Here, the two facets of this plant are set in opposition. On one side, geranium unfolds its green, floral and aromatic energy. On the other, it emits an intense, peppery and powerful breath. The result is a very distinctive creation, starting with an icy surge and gradually evolving toward a sillage of strong character. As it develops, L'Eau Rêvée d'Hubert de Sisley draws us with it into the depths of a dense forest. The result is a fragrance steeped in nature, at once very refined and galvanizing.
Two artists at work on the design of the L'Eau Rêvée d'Hubert bottle
To design its perfume bottle, Sisley called upon two artists, with whom the house has already collaborated many times. The glass case owes its existence to Polish sculptor Bronislaw Krzysztof. He opted for the minimalism of a glass cylinder topped with a cap resembling a piece of ice. All the bottles of the Eaux Rêvées de Sisley share the same appearance. Only a small colored element sets them apart. At its neck, L'Eau Rêvée d'Hubert de Sisley bears a small black ribbon, a symbol of restraint, timelessness and elegance. L'Eau Rêvée d'Hubert comes in a cardboard box enhanced by Polish painter Elzbieta Radziwill, in pastel tones, very natural.
