Fables d’Orient is the amber floral of the collection L’Artisan Parfumeur launched in 2021 under the name L’Orient, since become Les Merveilles. Christophe Raynaud works there on an idea of floral milk: creamy heliotrope, peppery nutmeg, amber and cottony musks. A powdery, unisex oriental that the house files among its richest fragrances.
A signed review holds it to be the most finely chiseled of the collection: powdery start, slightly almondy spices, amber and balsamic base, longevity judged very good.

Stéphan, who runs the blog Passion Parfums, says he is no lover of orientals and yet makes Fables d’Orient his favorite of the collection, the only one of the six he would see himself wearing. He describes a frankly powdery start, spicy and slightly almondy notes, a faintly leathery base but above all amber and balsamic.
He finds it classic, with just enough of a shift to hold the attention, and judges it the most finely chiseled of the line. The longevity strikes him as very good, the sillage correct. The marriage of powdery iris, nutmeg and the amber accord makes it for him a future classic.
