Launched in 2023, La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Parfum Absolue combines, according to Guerlain, the power of an intense eau de parfum with the sophistication of a perfume absolute. Delphine Jelk surrounds a trio of roses with cherry, almond and bergamot, iris and a smoky tea accord, over a base of patchouli, leather accord and tonka bean.
Guerlain spreads the composition over three tiers: at the top, bergamot, cherry and almond; at the heart, rose, a smoky tea accord and iris; at the base, patchouli, a leather accord and tonka bean.
The rose is threefold: rose essence and Grasse rose absolute, joined by a Damask rose absolute. The smoky tea and the leather are accords, which the house describes as heightening each other.
The house’s descriptions mention neither amber nor black tea: the tea accord, described as smoky, falls under tea, and the base contains no ambery note.
The ingredient list declares, among others, limonene, coumarin, linalool, citronellol, geraniol and eugenol, regulated allergens, as well as two colorants, a red and a violet, which tint the juice.
