The news has just broken and the house Yves Saint-Laurent will very soon present its new perfume La Nuit de L'Homme Eau Electrique. It will launch at the beginning of 2017 and will be presented in a case similar to that of its predecessor, La Nuit de L'Homme, but entirely redesigned in electric blue tones.
The house of Yves Saint-Laurent has always been very attached to the city of Paris. Indeed, it is in this place that the designer spent most of his time. Nonetheless, this time it is the image of a nocturnal Paris that the house has chosen to depict for us. Once again, Yves Saint-Laurent draws us into a mysterious yet more magnetic universe than ever. The brand presents its new perfume La Nuit De L'Homme Eau Electrique. So let us take a closer look at how this translates in terms of scent.
La Nuit De L'Homme Eau Electrique, a perfume assembled by three perfumers
The least one can say is that the house of Yves Saint-Laurent did not skimp on resources to develop its new perfume. Indeed, it is the result of a collaboration between three renowned perfumers. This fragrance was created by Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo. Their names are not necessarily unfamiliar to you, and for good reason... One can no longer count the number of best-sellers signed by these three creators, so numerous are they. Juliette Karagueuzoglou has the habit of immersing herself in her memories to develop perfumes. It must be said that she can afford any boldness thanks to her highly advanced training in perfumery. She notably graduated from the prestigious ISIPCA perfumery school in Versailles, one of the most reputable in the world. Dominique Ropion, for his part, possesses almost encyclopedic knowledge of the raw materials used in perfumery. He is without question one of the most prolific perfumers of our generation. Finally, Anne Flipo is above all an artist. She always tries to move away from overly commercial standards in favor of bolder fragrances. It is therefore all this creativity that is found in the new perfume La Nuit De L'Homme Eau Electrique.
The electric scent of the Yves Saint-Laurent perfume
But then, how does an “electric” scent actually translate? In reality, the house of Yves Saint-Laurent chose to reclaim the classic fougère accord. This constitutes one of the seven olfactory families present in perfumery. Moreover, fougère is by far the most used accord in men's perfumes. Nonetheless, rest assured, Yves Saint-Laurent did not gather three perfumers to deliver a classic perfume! The house has totally reinterpreted this scent well known to men. Thus, La Nuit De L'Homme Eau Electrique opens with a very invigorating fruity blend. This consists of mandarin and lemon, juicy fruits appreciated in perfumery for their freshness. These are also enriched with green apple. Then, it is at this moment that the emblematic notes of fougère make their appearance. La Nuit De L'Homme Eau Electrique combines the spicy and aromatic flavors of lavender, geranium and sage. Likewise, orange blossom here brings more brightness while accentuating the Mediterranean side of this perfume. Finally, the base of La Nuit De L'Homme Eau Electrique warms up and darkens. It ends with an elegant blend of cedar, patchouli, vetiver, cashmere wood and vanilla.
