Izia La Nuit

Izia La Nuit: The new Sisley Eau de Parfum. The house Sisley is a family business that has worked in the world of beauty for many decades. Completely different from most brands, it first made a name for itself in the cosmetics world, in phytotherapy, before venturing into perfumery.

The house Sisley by far prefers quality over quantity. As proof, its olfactory creations are quite distinct from one another and the brand’s reputation is enough to provide them with excellent publicity. With Sisley, television marketing campaigns are rare and world-famous ambassadors are nonexistent. In this context, in 2017, the release of a new feminine fragrance was highly anticipated. It was at this moment that the feminine fragrance Izia made its appearance. Today, in 2021, Sisley decides to reinterpret it in a completely new form named Izia la Nuit. What are its strengths? What are its differences from its predecessor? Here is our review.

Olfastory’s review

Rose, an essential ingredient at Sisley

Like many feminine perfumes, and more specifically at Sisley, Izia la Nuit contains rose. However, one should not assume the house is taking the easy route by using one of the most widely used raw materials in feminine perfumery. Here, it is the Ornano rose, extremely rare and possessing a singular scent. It blooms only once a year, for a brief moment. It therefore brings a more original femininity to this perfume, as well as a precious quality. This flower is also used to evoke the past and childhood of Isabelle d’Ornano, who grew up in Andalusia and whose sense of smell was shaped by the presence of numerous floral gardens. Izia la Nuit is a dive into her personal memories. This only makes the perfume richer in emotion.

The darker, more long-lasting side of Izia la Nuit

Unlike the original Izia, which was rather lively and airy, Izia la Nuit proves darker. It is a hymn to the night, as a new tribute to the mysterious and unique rose discovered in the garden of Isabelle d’Ornano. While drawing inspiration from its predecessor, Izia la Nuit has a personality of its own and reveals a new intensity. Vanilla gives it more warmth, as does amber. Together, these two ingredients make it a very sensual fragrance. Sophisticated and contemporary, the perfume Izia la Nuit also contains fruity, colorful notes for extra vibrancy. These are contrasted by woods and leathers, making the whole more elegant and long-lasting. In terms of both craftsmanship and tenacity, this perfume has nothing to envy in its predecessor.

The new, enchanting bottle of Izia la Nuit

Finally, in terms of the bottle, Izia la Nuit is unveiled in a visual of great beauty. It is presented in a pebble-shaped case, as round as it is generous. It features a new black lacquer to represent the night. However, in a burst of light and luxury, a few golden touches also adorn it. Note that this bottle is the work of a prestigious Polish sculptor: Bronislaw Krysztof.
