La Pureté by Zadig & Voltaire is indeed a new fragrance. However, it draws its inspiration from the origins of Zadig & Voltaire's perfumery. To better understand its universe, it is worth retracing the house's olfactory journey. Indeed, Zadig & Voltaire always wanted to make its mark in perfumery. Its fashion creations were therefore accompanied for the first time by a fragrance. This initial composition was called Patchou'Lait and rested on an accord of patchouli combined with milk. The idea was very innovative but met with only mixed success. Later, Zadig & Voltaire decided to try the experience again, this time partnering with Clarins. It was perfumer Nathalie Lorson who was in charge of this creation. She decided to draw inspiration from the very first Patchou'Lait but to develop a maternal, milky feminine version accompanied by a smokier, woodier masculine edition. Today, Tome 1 La Pureté seems to bring these two fragrances together in a new androgynous recipe. What we have in hand is a powdery, milky, enveloping juice. It opens with a very fresh sensation from bergamot, a citrus fruit resulting from the crossing of lemon and bitter orange. Milk, for its part, appears at the heart. It is paired with the more exotic and mysterious power of patchouli. Finally, La Pureté Tome 1 by Zadig & Voltaire ends with a creamy breath of sandalwood. The result is a fragrance of character with fresh and carefree nuances.

As usual, Tome 1 La Pureté by Zadig & Voltaire comes in a bottle with a very minimalist design. Entirely lacquered in white, its bottle is simply decorated with a label on its front face, whose lettering immediately evokes that of a dictionary. The idea is indeed there, and La Pureté Tome 1 does aim to evoke the world of literature. Moreover, this is not the first time that Zadig & Voltaire has drawn a connection between these two worlds. This effect is further emphasized by the packaging of this fragrance. It is contained in a cardboard box resembling a book.
