Where to buy

H24 is a tribute to modern masculinity, while repeatedly echoing the history of the Hermès brand. So, what does its enigmatic name mean? What spirit lies hidden in this streamlined bottle? Here is everything you need to know!

H24, far more than a simple name, a symbol

First, let us start by better understanding the name of this fragrance: H24. At first glance, it is an echo of the 24 hours in a day. Indeed, the modern man is multifaceted. He juggles a rich professional life with a full personal life, without neglecting his own personal fulfillment. 24 hours are no longer enough for him to accomplish all the tasks he aspires to complete in a day. This is therefore the first thing referenced by this fragrance. However, the message goes much further. The H also echoes the name of the Hermès brand. Added to this is also the H in the words Homme (Man) and Humanité (Humanity). Once again, through this fragrance, Hermès places man at the center of everything. It makes him a fascinating being, who only asks to be discovered. At the same time, the number 24 does not only symbolize the 24 hours of the day. It is also a reference to the number and address of Hermès since 1880. Indeed, since its creation, the house has occupied the same location in Paris, at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré. It is therefore a dive into its intimate world and its heritage.

H24 by Hermès, an aromatic fragrance in a modern, streamlined bottle

Now that the riddle has been decoded, let us take a moment to discover this fragrance itself. In terms of scent, it owes its existence to the official perfumer of the Hermès house: the talented Christine Nagel. To create this fragrance, she drew inspiration from the Hermès workshop, as hot irons come to cover still-damp fabric. From this movement emerges a metallic vapor with a very distinctive smell. It is recreated in this fragrance using a synthetic molecule called sclarene. Sage, for its part, is the other central element of this fragrance. It gives this composition a more Mediterranean spirit. Finally, for added elegance, H24 also contains narcissus and rosewood.
To be more respectful of the planet, the H24 fragrance by Hermès is presented in a box made of recycled and recyclable paper, printed only on the front to limit its environmental impact. Its bottle, meanwhile, is a glass case forming a diamond shape. Free of any excess, it combines a very pale green color with a cylindrical steel cap. The whole is crafted by the prestigious Pochet du Courval house.

Olfastory’s review

The Hermès house displays an incredible longevity. Having started out as a saddler and harness maker, it gradually expanded its business into leather goods and then perfumery. Today, it has built itself a true luxury empire, whose address is still located at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré, in Paris. It is precisely to echo this unique place that the Hermès brand decided to name its new fragrance H24. Following on from the previous and iconic Terre d’Hermès, this masculine juice was highly anticipated. So, does it live up to all our expectations? Here is our review on the subject.
