The Hermès house displays an incredible longevity. Having started out as a saddler and harness maker, it gradually expanded its business into leather goods and then perfumery. Today, it has built itself a true luxury empire, whose address is still located at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré, in Paris. It is precisely to echo this unique place that the Hermès brand decided to name its new fragrance H24. Following on from the previous and iconic Terre d’Hermès, this masculine juice was highly anticipated. So, does it live up to all our expectations? Here is our review on the subject.

A modern bottle, crafted with true expertise
Let us start by taking a closer look at its bottle… On this point, it must be acknowledged that Hermès pulled out all the stops to dazzle us! Designed by designer Philippe Mouquet, its bottle is both understated and streamlined while remaining very elegant. Free of any superfluous detail, it bears its name in relief on the front face. Its silhouette forms a diamond shape and a pale green hue faces a cylindrical steel cap. Behind its apparent simplicity, this glass case is the work of one of the most prestigious Parisian glassmakers: the Pochet du Courval house, crafting bottles since 1853, including the remarkable bottle of Guerlain's Eau de Cologne Impériale. Additionally, the H24 bottle by Hermès is presented in a box made of recyclable and recycled paper, printed on one side only. Its ambition? To delight us visually while being respectful of the planet. Challenge met!
The distinctive scent of H24 by Hermès
In terms of scent, H24 seems to embody all the spirit and free-spiritedness of perfumer Christine Nagel. A chemist by training, this fulfilled, hedonistic woman enjoys creating fragrances that are often surprising and unexpected. Once again, she dazzles us here with her boldness. H24 has a unique spirit, both green and aromatic. Sage is its central element and is paired here with rosewood and narcissus. However, it is from a completely different ingredient that the surprise comes, namely sclarene. More specifically, it is a synthetic molecule whose character is both humid and metallic, like that of hot vapor in contact with the soleplate of an iron. Through it, H24 evokes a scent very present in the Hermès sewing workshops.
H24, a short and enigmatic name that says a lot…
Finally, in terms of name, H24 was also very well chosen. Its name is short yet incisive and striking. It sparks curiosity. What does it conceal? The H echoes the Hermès brand, but it is also a tribute to Man and Humanity. The 24, meanwhile, refers to the historic Hermès address, at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Undoubtedly, this fragrance was thought out down to the smallest detail!
