Gucci Bamboo is an eau de parfum for women launched by Gucci in 2015, named after the bamboo of the house’s bag handles, heated and bent since 1947. This woody floral opens on bergamot, brings together Casablanca lily, ylang-ylang and orange blossom, and rests on sandalwood, Tahitian vanilla and an ambergris accord.

Top

Bergamot, described by the house as Italian, opens the composition. Its essence, cold-pressed from the zest, brings a bright, lively start that gives way to the white flowers forming the core of the perfume.

Heart

Casablanca lily, ylang-ylang and orange blossom compose a bouquet of white, sunny flowers. The house specifies an extra-grade ylang-ylang from the Comoros, and describes the lily as sensual, the orange blossom as feminine and the ylang-ylang as delicate.

Base

Sandalwood, Tahitian vanilla and an ambergris accord form the base. The house places the intense side of the perfume here: these warm, woody materials are meant to contrast with the softness of the flowers, true to the duality it attributes to the Gucci woman.

A floral family

Bamboo belongs to the florals, with a woody facet the house claims. The three white flowers of the heart set its character, while sandalwood and ambergris give the base its warmth and grounding.
