The house of Berdoues was born in 1902, thanks to Guillaume Berdoues, who was formerly a hairdresser and barber. He decided to create his own amber eau de cologne to enhance his clients’ shaves. Since then, this family has continuously passed down this passion and unique expertise, giving rise to four generations of great perfumers. For over 100 years, Berdoues has been innovating and creating fragrances from here and elsewhere, conceived as Grands Crus. This is indeed the name of its olfactory collection. In 2020, a new fragrance joins this perfumed assembly. Guaria Morada is a rich and exotic essence, whose name clearly evokes the beauty of an orchid. So, what about this floral recipe? Guaria Morada, an exceptional Grand Cru
Like all the Grands Crus by Berdoues, Guaria Morada brings together exceptional raw materials, giving rise to a rare perfume, as noble as it is elegant. Each of the Grands Crus by Berdoues evokes a particular region of the world. Now, Guaria Morada brilliantly meets this challenge, inviting us on an immersive journey to the heart of an exotic land. As its name suggests, it is here a matter of an orchid. Like all the Grands Crus by Berdoues, Guaria Morada is conceived like a great wine, blending rare and precious materials, of incomparable quality and with an immediately identifiable geographic identity.
Guaria Morada, a floral and exotic journey
By choosing to name its perfume Guaria Morada, Berdoues gives us a strong indication of its source of inspiration. Indeed, the Guaria Morada is an emblematic orchid of Costa Rica, a symbol of the country. This fragrance is thus a direct journey to Central America. Now, it must be acknowledged that Berdoues wonderfully translates all the splendor of this place, between exotic fruits, lush nature and floral scent. Created by Mylène Alran, this essence brings together sweet fruits with more floral and velvety notes. Moreover, this flower also conceals a whole symbol. In Costa Rica, it is a token of luck and good fortune! Here, it is illuminated with ylang-ylang and orange blossom. Vanilla gives it a more sensual note. Orange, pear and mandarin energize the whole, while patchouli structures the composition.
Berdoues opts for a sober but effective bottle
As for the bottle, Berdoues does not go for eccentricity. The house chooses to give this perfume the same container as all its other Grands Crus. Guaria Morada comes in a rectangular glass bottle, simply decorated with a white label bearing its references, and topped with a small opaque black cap. On its back, Berdoues adds a colored face, rich in green leaves and fuchsia flowers, like the emblematic Guaria Morada. The scene is set: Guaria Morada is a floral and timeless perfume. No one could truly assign an era to this bottle or to this fragrance. Guaria Morada intends to take the senses of every generation on a journey.
