Oud Wa Ward
The lands of the Orient are particularly rich in raw materials and are for that reason adored the world over. They have very often served as a source of inspiration for artists and notably for perfumers. They also, quite recently, gave Berdoues one of its most precious ingredients: oud wood.

This gave rise to three fragrances named Oud Wa Misk, Oud Wa Vanillia, and Oud Wa Ward. All three pay homage to this precious wood and work it in different ways. It is more precisely on the Oud Wa Ward version, laden with Turkish roses, that attention is focused here.
The Grand Cru Collection by Berdoues
Oud Wa Ward is part of a collection that came to life in 2014, named Grand Cru. This collection brings together prestigious fragrances created from the finest raw materials offered by the planet. Like great wines, each juice from this collection tells the story of the terroir from which it comes. To achieve this, Berdoues perfumers have traveled the globe in search of the most emblematic materials and plants from certain regions. They turned them into exceptional fragrances. These rare Colognes are the result of know-how spanning multiple generations and more than 100 years of expertise. These are original and innovative creations, of incomparable quality. To achieve this, Berdoues aged its fragrances in vats, and these are the result of an unusually long maceration. This gives them more power, character, and personality. As such, Oud Wa Ward is built around a Turkish rose of heightened femininity as well as oud wood, a prestigious ingredient whose price sometimes exceeds that of gold.
The oriental seduction of Oud Wa Ward
Oud Wa Ward is, as its name indicates, a fragrance built around oud wood from Thailand. This is a subversive ingredient highly prized by luxury perfumeries. However, its exorbitant price does not seem to deter perfumers who are particularly fond of its many facets. Moreover, oud wood is renowned for its woody, leathery, and animalic sillage. This does not come directly from the wood itself but rather from the resin produced by a tree when it becomes infected by a species of fungus. Only a few plant species are capable of producing this substance. What is more, cultivating it requires extreme patience. Be that as it may, nothing seems too fine to enhance Berdoues fragrances! At the same time, Oud Wa Ward is also laden with femininity. It contains Turkish rose, a flower considered the queen of elegance and romance. Nevertheless, it all fades into a sustained, vibrant sillage brimming with patchouli. Rose and oud wood are two ingredients that seem, on the surface, to be complete opposites, and yet here they reveal an absolutely sensual harmony. Oud Wa Ward is a juice of unmatched quality, ideally designed for women who embrace their sensuality and their seductive side.
