The success was immediate, eventually giving rise to a company that is now world-renowned. After four generations, it is now Sophie Berdoues who masterfully runs the activity of the eponymous house. Although very creative, she strives to perpetuate the tradition and know-how of her elders. This is how she chose to create a fragrance collection named 1902, from which the perfume Freesia & Coton emerged.

Sophie Berdoues decides to pay tribute to her history

Sophie Berdoues's company today has more than 100 employees. The fruit of her success? A passion for the finest raw materials combined with a unique know-how, which has been passed down generation after generation. Sophie Berdoues states: Having always been immersed in raw materials, I grew up surrounded by the creations developed by my grandfather and my father and all the emotions they bring. Today, my focus is on cultivating our know-how and revealing raw materials, in order to offer the finest creations. The perfume Freesia & Coton seems to possess a particular soul, while also being turned toward the future. As such, no one could truly assign an age to this fragrance. This is noticeable from the very sight of its bottle. Its timeless bottle takes the form of a heavy, thick glass cylinder, a mark of its refinement. A classic white label decorates its front face. However, its top is crowned with a chrome metal cap, much more contemporary. The date 1902 is clearly highlighted here. The whole is presented in a timeless packaging, decorated with sketched flowers in different colors. Pink, yellow and soft green give it a very springlike style.

The soothing scent of Freesia & Coton

As if paying tribute to its past history, Berdoues chose to open Freesia & Coton like an Eau de Cologne, that is, with very refreshing citrus. Mandarin blends here with bergamot. Quickly, the whole is warmed by a spicier touch of saffron. Then, the heart of Freesia & Coton brings together a floral trio of freesia, tuberose and jasmine. Cotton wraps around the whole and makes this juice more comforting. Then, Freesia & Coton suddenly becomes smoother. Musk gives it a certain animalic quality. Its tenderness is preserved by a duo of cashmere wood and amber. Through this composition, Berdoues has perfectly managed to blend the lightness of Eaux de Cologne while bringing an additional touch of originality, more feminine, tenacious and modern.
