Guaria Morada

Guaria Morada: The new Berdoues perfume. Perfumery is meant to enhance an outfit and accentuate the personality of the person wearing a fragrance. Yes, but not only that. With a simple breath, it is also capable of transporting us to the other side of the world and letting our imagination wander.

Guaria Morada is a very Spanish perfume, evoking all the exoticism of Costa Rica, in a floral and lush fragrance, rich in orchids. Recently, this essence has come to complete the prestigious Grands Crus collection by Berdoues. These perfumes are conceived as modern reinterpretations of the Eaux de Cologne of the past, all built around noble perfumery ingredients, rigorously selected for their quality. These are authentic perfumes, with strong character, a direct result of their long maceration. So, how about heading to Costa Rican soil to become intoxicated by the floral scent of this essence created by perfumer Mylène Alran? Here are a few additional details about its composition.

Guaria Morada opens on sun-kissed citrus

Guaria Morada by Berdoues is a very sun-kissed perfume, evoking the tropical climate that bathes Costa Rica. As a result, its opening is as vivid as it is bright. To evoke a distant and exotic land, Berdoues chose to incorporate ylang-ylang flower. Mainly grown in Madagascar and the Comoros, this plant has a rich, powdery and floral scent. In some respects, it is also spicy and almost leathery. Here, as if to reveal all its natural spirit and vivacity, it surrounds itself with citrus. Orange and mandarin become one, for a result as appetizing as it is tangy.

The floral heart of Guaria Morada by Berdoues

Then, Berdoues decides to transcend the femininity of its perfume, in a heart conceived as an enormous floral bouquet. In a more Mediterranean register, orange blossom illuminates this fragrance, accompanied by tuberose. As a side note, this Mexican flower was introduced to the Grasse region, the world capital of perfumery, in the seventeenth century. Slightly heady, it proves as creamy as it is warm and lightly honeyed. Here, this duo is softened by the addition of amyris wood, an emblem of Haiti or the Antilles, better known as rosewood. Close to sandalwood, this ingredient gives character to this fragrance, while remaining tender and comforting.

Guaria Morada by Berdoues closes on a woody and fruity base

As in most perfumes, the base notes of Guaria Morada by Berdoues are enriched with a dark, woody scent. Patchouli gives it more character and structures the whole. Yet it is accompanied by a more surprising note. Pear joins its sillage, as if to recall that this is a fresh and addictive essence. Then, it is at this moment that the star of this composition makes its appearance. Vanilla unfolds all its richness. A true icon of Costa Rica, it comes to us from an orchid growing mainly in warm, tropical regions. Indeed, it is precisely this ingredient that gives this perfume its name. The Guaria Morada is a purple orchid that is also the emblem of Costa Rica. Legend has it that it is also a good luck charm, a token of luck and good fortune.
