In March 2021, the house of Rochas offers us a brand new creation. Its creation is called Girl and, as its name suggests, it is a tribute to femininity. Infinitely respectful of women's bodies and of nature, it is composed essentially of ingredients of natural origin. Encapsulated in a pale green bottle, Girl by Rochas is an ode to nature. So, how does this translate in terms of olfactory composition? Here are the different elements making up its composition.
Girl by Rochas, a very natural creation
Girl by Rochas fully aligns with the expectations of today's consumers. Indeed, for several years now, organic has been making its way into cosmetics. More recently, it has also become a central concern for perfumers. Increasingly, women are seeking ethics and ecology. Traditional perfumery is renewing itself to meet this demand. After having very extensively explored synthetic molecules, perfumers express a certain desire to return to their roots, now turning toward less synthetic materials. In this context, Girl by Rochas contains 90% ingredients of natural origin. Of course, this choice does not come without imposing certain constraints. In traditional perfumery, noses have on average about 5000 odorous notes at their disposal. If this is narrowed down to exclusively natural perfumery, they are left with only about 500 scents. Girl by Rochas, a floral and luminous fragrance
Girl by Rochas is a springlike juice, a true ode to nature. It opens with a luminous, Mediterranean sensation. First, its sun-kissed character comes from neroli, an emblematic plant of the Mediterranean basin, known for its relaxing properties. To give it more vigor and flair, perfumer Anne Flipo adds spicier pink pepper and fresher blackcurrant buds. Then, Girl develops into a more generous, floral heart. To offer a certain continuity with the neroli, note the presence of orange blossom. This is accompanied by a more opulent, generous jasmine, as well as a more exotic orchid. Little by little, sensuality gains in strength and reaches its peak in its sillage. The base notes of Girl by Rochas contain vanilla as well as sandalwood, creamier and smoother. All this fragrance needed was a certain persistence. This is brought by cedarwood, serving as the backbone of this juice and considerably improving its longevity.
