Muguet Porcelaine is a fragrance belonging to the Hermessence collection by Hermès. It is an assemblage of perfumes embodying the quintessence of this house. This collection is woven from unique and exclusive creations, full of emotion and suggestion. Like its predecessors, Muguet Porcelaine was composed by perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena. He attempts to take us on a journey through raw materials that generally appeal to the senses or evoke an emotion tied to a memory. In this pursuit, the perfumer sought to tame a flower that is at once rebellious and delicate, strong and candid: lily of the valley. He explains his choice in these terms: there is so much subtlety in lily of the valley that I dreamed of it sublimated. I immersed myself in its scent, to the point of forgetting the other senses, in order to restore the beauty and supple voluptuousness of this flower, as fragile as porcelain. Thus, Jean-Claude Ellena made nature into an idealized nature. Moreover, the achievement is all the greater considering that lily of the valley is a mute flower. Indeed, it cannot be distilled, and it is therefore to the chemist's talent of its exclusive perfumer that the house of Hermès turned.

The floral lightness of Muguet Porcelaine
