Eros is an aromatic fougère built on a clash: an icy opening of mint and green apple, caught by a sweet, woody base.

What the house declares

Versace describes a sensuality conveyed by tonka bean, ambroxan, geranium flower and vanilla, set against a virility carried by woods, Atlas and Virginia cedars, with vetiver and oakmoss for intensity.

The materials

The opening combines mint oil, Italian lemon and green apple. The center rests on tonka bean, ambroxan and geranium, the latter giving the whole its fougère turn. The base keeps Madagascar vanilla, cedars, vetiver and oakmoss.

Ambroxan is the material that tips the fragrance. Close to ambergris in its musky powder, lighter and faintly marine, it clings to the tonka bean and produces the sweet accord recognizable from a distance.

What the label declares

The house’s list runs to fifteen entries and includes no colorant. Three UV filters appear in it, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane and ethylhexyl salicylate, alongside denatured alcohol, fragrance and water.

The remaining entries declare the allergens: limonene, coumarin, linalool, alpha-isomethyl ionone, citronellol, citral, geraniol, cinnamal and eugenol. Coumarin, the odorant molecule of tonka bean, comes right after limonene.
