Chance Eau Fraîche Eau de Parfum

Chance Eau Fraîche Eau de Parfum is the 2023 version of Chance Eau Fraîche, which Olivier Polge composed for Chanel as a creation in its own right. The house describes it as a floral, sparkling fragrance: the citron accord opens it, a jasmine heart gives it roundness and the teak wood note, dense and ambery, holds the base.

Chanel describes an elegant composition of intense freshness, supported by a rich, deep woody base. The citron accord opens the fragrance, intensely sparkling and invigorating; a floral jasmine heart gives it roundness and luminosity.

The teak wood note, dense and ambery, holds the base. It comes from the 2007 eau de toilette, which the house describes through the zesty freshness of citron, the jasmine softness and the vibrant presence of teak wood.

What the label declares

Alcohol, fragrance and water open the ingredient list published in Europe. Butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, a UV filter, preserves the tint of the juice, given by three colorants, a yellow, a red and a blue: CI 19140, CI 14700 and CI 42090.

The rest declares eleven allergens: limonene, hydroxycitronellal, linalool, citral, hexyl cinnamal, citronellol, coumarin, geraniol, benzyl benzoate, eugenol and benzyl alcohol. Neither lilial nor lyral.

In Mexico, Chanel publishes a more detailed list, under a different formula code. It names the essential oils of bergamot, lemon, bitter orange, jasmine, patchouli and sandalwood, Virginia cedar oil and, in fourth place, a synthetic woody molecule, tetramethyl acetyloctahydronaphthalenes.
