Cartier gave Déclaration, the masculine fragrance created in 1998 by Jean-Claude Ellena, an eau de parfum in 2024. Signed by Mathilde Laurent, the house's perfumer, Déclaration Eau de Parfum warms the original spicy accord around cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and a smoky tea.

A spice attack
L’Ancien, who signs the reviews for La Parfumerie Podcast, describes an opening of great strength, where ginger and cinnamon strike immediately. He judges the development well controlled and the base, simple and amber woody, built on carefully chosen raw materials.
He makes it an unmissable version of the classic for its fans, and a welcome breath of fresh air in the current offering.
A bridge between two eras
Varanis Ridari, on The Scented Devil, sees in the newcomer a link between the original from 1998 and Déclaration Parfum. He finds in it, more clearly than in the Parfum, the cold spice and vetiver-inflected leather of the original.
He also draws a comparison with Thé Brun, composed by Pierre Bourdon for Jean-Charles Brosseau in 2005. He finds the opening somewhat disconcerting, with an unexpected sweetness, and the profile warmer and spicier than that of the previous versions.
