Cartier gave Déclaration, the masculine fragrance created in 1998 by Jean-Claude Ellena, an eau de parfum in 2024. Signed by Mathilde Laurent, the house's perfumer, Déclaration Eau de Parfum warms the original spicy accord around cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and a smoky tea.

What the label declares
The label fills in the base that the note list leaves empty. Iso E Super, declared under its chemical name, appears at the top of the odorant substances, along with Virginia cedar oil; the list also declares an oakmoss extract, coumarin and vanillin.
Eugenol, isoeugenol and isoeugenyl acetate, three molecules with a clove scent, confirm the spice that the house highlights; cinnamon bark oil and cinnamal answer to the cinnamon. Unlike Déclaration Parfum, the list declares neither a UV filter nor a colorant.
