Hero Parfum is the parfum concentration version of Burberry's Hero line, launched in 2024 after the eau de toilette and eau de parfum. Signed by Aurélien Guichard, this masculine woody fragrance pairs amyris and cypriol oil at the top, and sets down the trio of cedars on which the house built the entire line as the base.
Hero Parfum has drawn few signed reviews, and the most pointed one rejects it. Varanis Ridari, on his blog The Scented Devil, finds neither the cedar, the cypriol, nor the amyris that were announced, and describes a sweet opening with coconut accents, laden with musks and amber materials.
Olfastory’s review
Among the signed reviews, the most detailed one sees Hero Parfum as a misstep for the line.
Notes nowhere to be found
Varanis Ridari, who publishes his reviews on the blog The Scented Devil, wrote his in March 2024. He judges the fragrance foreign to the versions that preceded it in the line and says he perceives none of the listed notes: neither the cypriol, nor the cedar, nor anything reminiscent of the amyris he knows.
Sugar, coconut and amber woods
Instead he describes a sweet opening, between ethyl maltol and coconut, laden with musks and amber materials, in the wake of several successes from Jean Paul Gaultier. He places it somewhere between Alien Man by Mugler and Santal 33 by Le Labo, and concludes with an unequivocal rejection.
