Barénia Pleine Fleur

Barénia Pleine Fleur extends Hermès's Barénia line, whose official page now brings together the Barénia Eau de Parfum, its Intense version and this floral Eau de Parfum. The line borrows its name from the house's Barénia leather, and Pleine Fleur takes its place as a new variation rather than a simple isolated flanker: the composition, the object and the logic of refillability all answer to the same vocabulary.

The name plays on two registers that the brand explicitly links: the tactility of the flower and that of Hermès's heritage leathers, all “pleine fleur” (full-grain). The term thus bridges leather and flower, where the brand pairs the structure of the chypre with white lily and orange blossom.

The perfume is signed by Christine Nagel, the house's perfumer. The official text presents her work as a reinterpretation of the Hermès chypre: With Barénia Pleine Fleur, Christine Nagel, the house's perfumer, revisits Hermès's iconic chypre. She signs a floral and sensual Eau de Parfum. The house thus explicitly claims the structure of the chypre, and the perfume is classified as a floral chypre. Around the launch, the perfumer mentioned in an interview the figures of Malgosia Bela, the face of the Hermès woman, and Nancy Cunard, cited as references for her creative process. The release date given is 2026.

On the olfactory level, the composition is built around white lily and orange blossom, whose waxy and lightly sweet whiteness carries the floral facet announced by the name. Patchouli places the formula in the chypre lineage, with its earthy and damp depth giving the bouquet its foundation and longevity. Sources also mention, without confirmation of tiering by the brand, miracle berry. The detailed breakdown between top, heart and base notes is not documented by official sources.

The object takes up the creation of Philippe Mouquet, already the author of the Barénia bottle. That one was inspired by the house's Collier de Chien bracelet, transposing its pyramidal studs with rounded facets. Pleine Fleur keeps this design: soft elliptical curves contrast with a metal plate adorned with pyramidal studs, and one final stud is shaped into the bottom of the glass, at the heart of the bottle. The color changes, however, with an orange-pink gradient that the brand presents as an evocation of the juice's floral character.

The bottle is designed to last: Barénia is a refillable object, Hermès states. The Eau de Parfum is offered in 100 ml, 60 ml and 30 ml, these three sizes being fillable from a 125 ml refill sold separately, for which the house publishes instructions on its website. This refill logic, common to the Barénia line, is as much part of the perfume's presentation as its composition or its design.
