The blend of exotic woods and spices pushes masculine seduction here to its peak. Azzaro Wanted By Night takes flight on the fire of cinnamon paired with mandarin. Cinnamon comes from the cinnamon tree, an evergreen tree about 15 m tall. The origin of cinnamon is uncertain, but it is thought to be very ancient since it is mentioned in the Bible as well as in Sanskrit texts. In the Middle Ages, cinnamon was a precious commodity used in stews and broths. Today, cinnamon comes mainly from China and Indonesia. On cinnamon plantations, the bark is harvested from the branches and shoots of the suckers. After harvesting, only the inner part of the bark is kept (this living part is called the “bast”) and then cut into pieces. During drying, it curls in on itself, forming small, more or less layered tubes. The word cinnamon comes from the Latin canna, meaning reed. Cinnamon sticks are then sold whole or ground into powder. In perfumery, cinnamon gives off spicy, sweet, peppery and vanilla-like tonalities.
