Ange ou Démon

These gentlemen will never say otherwise: women are mysterious beings, sometimes complicated to fathom. This is why Givenchy imagined a fragrance in their image. As one might have guessed, it is called Ange ou Démon.

In 2003, the house of Givenchy offered a magnificent bouquet of flowers centered on rose with Very Irresistible; in 2006 it would surprise once more with an intense and contrasted composition, the rather lovely Ange ou Démon. Ange ou Démon represents woman in all the beauty of her contrasts, of her floral and feminine lights but also of her sensual and so unsettling shadows.

Jean-Pierre Bethouart and Olivier Cresp sign Ange ou Démon, between shadow and light

For Olivier Cresp and Jean-Pierre Bethouart, the challenge was considerable: Givenchy wished to offer women a fragrance that would showcase their mysteries and their unsettling personalities. It fell to the two great and talented perfumers to create a fragrance that would be both very luminous and very dark, without either facet overtaking the other. It would be called Ange ou Démon.

Olivier Cresp, the famed creator of Angel and its gourmand notes unprecedented at the time, was thus given free rein to exercise his extraordinary creativity alongside the great chemist and creator Jean-Pierre Bethouart to create an Ange ou Démon in chiaroscuro. As a result, the two men produced a fragrance that wonderfully combines the immaculate purity of white flowers with the splendor of somewhat orientalizing woody notes.

Ange ou Démon is therefore the perfect alliance of woman's many faces, and its numerous flankers, playing on the intensity of light, would not say otherwise.

For more than ten alluring years, Ange ou Démon has embodied the supreme secret facet hidden within every woman. At once luminous and full of mystery, it invites each of us to explore every facet of her femininity, from softness to sensuality. Givenchy on the occasion of Ange ou Démon's tenth anniversary.

The secrets of Ange ou Démon Eau de Parfum by Givenchy

Olivier Cresp and Jean-Pierre Belthard imagined a composition rich in natural, luminous raw materials in order to compose a fragrant cocktail full of mysteries and surprises. Considered a floral oriental, Ange ou Démon Eau de Parfum has indeed not finished surprising us!

The fragrance of the Ange ou Démon Eau de Parfum woman opens first on an essence of Calabria mandarin and a white thyme note, as surprising as they are energizing. A touch of saffron brings a delicate spicy breeze to its freshness. Then the heart literally lights up with the opulence and beauty of immaculate, radiant flowers: lily, orange blossom, and the exotic, sun-kissed ylang-ylang. However, do not be fooled, for these angelic lights will tip over into dark, woody depths, demonic depths of sensuality? Clearly so, for amber woods, heliotrope, coumarin, and vanilla form a sillage as enveloping as it is addictive…

Of subtle beauty, barely brushing the skin, Ange ou Démon possesses an irresistible and fascinating power of attraction that bewitches the senses like the elusive gaze of a mysterious woman. Givenchy on Ange ou Démon EDP.
