Allure Homme

The story of Allure is almost innate for the house of Chanel. Indeed, the entire philosophy of the brand rests on enhancing the allure of those who wear its garments. So it is only logical that Chanel decided to create a fragrance named Allure, intended at first for women, in 1996. Given its success, men then began to envy it, and thus its masculine counterpart made its appearance in 1999 under the name Allure Homme. So, let's take a closer look at what Allure means according to Chanel.

The innate elegance of Chanel men

While Chanel has always made a point of offering its clients the finest garments sewn from the best materials on the planet with extraordinary craftsmanship, allure is something quite different. A man's allure is not earned but given to him naturally. It is sensed rather than displayed. It is unquestionably an incredible asset of seduction, clinging to the skin of charismatic men. Thus, some gentlemen only have allure when wearing a tuxedo. Others, however, are just as elegant when simply dressed in jeans. Allure is something personal, and yet Chanel has turned it into a universal fragrance. Allure Homme is a juice intended for men as a whole. It is at once original and universal, drawing inspiration from the men who passed through the life of Coco Chanel: Étienne Balsan, Boy Capel, the Duke of Westminster, Cocteau… A little of all that class is contained within the Allure Homme fragrance. It comes across as self-evident, at once natural, free of pretense, and particularly elegant.

The fresh sensuality of Allure Homme

Allure Homme is a juice synonymous with accomplishment. It opens with an invigorating freshness that signals all the dynamism of the man who wears it. This is built on Sicilian mandarin, Calabrian bergamot and Caucasus coriander. Allure Homme is an airy yet powerful fragrance. It instinctively instills a sense of freedom before evolving toward more boldness. Its masculine spirit is delivered through an accord of Madagascar pink pepper. Then, Allure Homme gradually evolves toward a more woody, virile base. This comes to life through the alliance of Atlas cedarwood and vetiver. Finally, Allure Homme closes with more smoothness. Venezuelan tonka bean and labdanum make it a tender, particularly comforting juice. The whole is contained in a very understated bottle. It has a square shape and a solid base. It is ideally designed for a man's hand and is topped with a champagne-colored metal cap. The Chanel name then breaks its clarity with its dark taupe color. The whole is at once virile and neutral… It simply has allure!

Olfastory’s review

It all began in 1996, when Chanel decided to perfect feminine allure by offering a fragrance evoking elegance of behavior, a certain simplicity in the art of being oneself. This fragrance was named Allure and was in perfect accord with the temperament of Chanel. Then, in a pure spirit of fairness and equality, the house decided to extend its fragrance into a masculine edition. Thus Allure Homme appeared three years later, in 1999. A great classic of perfumery, this juice has just celebrated its 20th anniversary, giving us the opportunity to share our review of it.
