Zadig L'Intense: has the Parisian rock-chic house found its signature accord, or is it adding yet another flanker? Zadig & Voltaire has been expanding its olfactory range since 2016 at a steady pace — This Is Her!, Just Rock!, This Is Love!, Undressed, Zadig Dream, This Is Really Her!, ZADIG EDP — and now L'Intense joins this already substantial catalog. The promise: a dark floral oriental built on sambac jasmine, patchouli and tonka bean, noble families but heavily used in the €80-100 segment. The question that arises: genuine ambition, or one more variation?
Sesame, spicy and evoking hazelnut, and ginger, spicy and warm, meet on the spice in the top notes, hazelnut on one side, warmth on the other.
Orange blossom, waxy and sweet, sits alongside leather, smoky and evoking tar, in the heart: wax and sugar on one side, smoke and tar on the other.
Vanilla and sandalwood share warmth in the base, sensual vanilla, woody sandalwood: the same warmth carried by two distinct materials.
