Yvresse was launched by Yves Saint Laurent in 1993 under the name Champagne, which the house had to give up after action by the champagne producers. Composed by Sophia Grojsman, it is a fruity chypre: the house describes a top of nectarine and lychee, a heart of rose and violet and a base of patchouli.
The 1993 bottle, designed by Joël Desgrippes, imitated a champagne cork; today’s bottle bears the name on one side and the composition on the other.
The 1993 bottle was designed by Joël Desgrippes. Made of crystal, it takes the shape of a champagne cork, with its metal cap and the small wire cage that holds it on the bottle, the muselet.
This bottle has since been replaced. The eau de toilette is sold today in 80 ml, in a bottle the house calls unusual, bearing the name Yvresse par Yves Saint Laurent on one side and its olfactory composition on the other.
Yvresse now belongs to the Heritage collection, in which Yves Saint Laurent gives a new setting to four of its emblematic fragrances, and the house still presents it as a party fragrance for women who sparkle.
