Azzaro launched Wanted Girl in spring 2019, three years after Wanted for men. Four IFF perfumers, Fanny Bal, Jean-Christophe Hérault, Loc Dong and Dominique Ropion, composed this imaginary flower: pomegranate and ginger blossom in the top, datura and dulce de leche in the heart, Haitian vetiver and tonka bean in the base. Georgia Fowler is its face.
The house divides its flower into three stages. In the top, a fresh, tart pomegranate and a ginger blossom born of an exclusive co-distillate of orange blossom absolute and ginger essence; in the heart, a heady datura and a gourmand dulce de leche.
The base pairs Haitian vetiver, whose pure, vibrant strength it praises, with a soft, vanilla-like tonka bean. Today, the house sums up the fragrance in three materials: ginger blossom in the top, dulce de leche in the heart, vetiver in the base.
What the critic perceives
Juliette Faliu smells above all a sweet, caramelized orange blossom, drowned in clean musks, lifted by tart red fruits and a hint of ginger, over ambery woods. Her reading differs from the house’s, which highlights the pomegranate and the datura.
What stays out
Commercial lists add pink pepper and patchouli, absent from the house’s description, which stay out of the composition. Lemon, which some presentations place in the top, is not included either: the house speaks of pomegranate.
