Vanille de Zanzibar

Fascinated by the light that illuminates 26 place Vendôme, it was precisely for this reason that Frédéric Boucheron decided to set up his boutique there. Indeed, he was immediately captivated by the brilliance of the sun reflecting in his precious stones from early morning until evening.

In fact, he was the first great jeweler to open a boutique of this kind on place Vendôme. This was in 1893. As if to pay tribute to Boucheron’s love of luminosity, the house chose to create an entirely new fragrance named Vanille de Zanzibar. It is a tribute to this archipelago but also to the many places crossed by the gem hunters who worked for Boucheron.

Boucheron packs its bags for Tanzania

Zanzibar is a Tanzanian archipelago located in the heart of the Indian Ocean. It lies along the eastern coast of Africa, directly opposite Tanzania. These splendid landscapes are characterized by numerous small islets forming lush vegetation amid the blue waters. There, the sea borders white sand beaches of a turquoise hue. The coral reefs are home to the most beautiful colorful fish. As one might imagine, the setting is worthy of a postcard. After all, what could be better suited to sparking the imagination? Moreover, this place is also characterized by a very pleasant climate. It is a place constantly bathed in sunshine. And it is precisely this sun-kissed luminosity that is found in Vanille de Zanzibar.

The luminous, sensual recipe of Vanille de Zanzibar

Vanille de Zanzibar is an oriental, vanilla, woody fragrance. It opens with a fresh burst of mandarin paired with the opulence of jasmine. This transparent, limpid plurality is combined with the sweetness of a juicy pear. This, in turn, brings more modernity to the fragrance. Then bourbon vanilla, the key ingredient in this composition, makes its entrance. It brings more sensuality to the whole. It is paired with the ambery power of Peru balsam as well as the floral character of heliotrope. Finally, white musks envelop the whole, lending a powdery, elegant scent to the fragrance. Vanille de Zanzibar is also wrapped in a creamy sandalwood and a very charismatic, full-bodied patchouli.
