Uomo Born in Roma Ruby is the edition Valentino adds in 2026 to its masculine line Born in Roma, as an Eau de Toilette. Only three notes have been communicated, and the fragrance is best read first in light of its line.

A line born in 2019

Born in Roma appeared in 2019 with two fragrances, Donna and Uomo. The house places the line under the sign of Rome, a city where the past and the present coexist, and sums it up with a formula from Pierpaolo Piccioli: there is no need to be born in Rome to feel Roman.

The original Uomo, which the house describes as an aromatic woody of vetiver, played on a contrast: a mineral salt and a sharp ginger set against sage and smoky vetiver. Its bottle bears the Rockstud, a pyramidal motif that Valentino links to Roman architecture.

A series of color editions

The masculine line has since branched into editions whose name carries a color: Yellow Dream in 2021, Coral Fantasy in 2022, Rockstud Noir in 2023, Green Stravaganza in 2024, Rendez-Vous Ivory in 2025, Purple Melancholia in 2026. Ruby extends this series.

Two more concentrated versions have since been added: Intense, as an Eau de Parfum, in 2023, and Extradose, the most concentrated in the line, in 2025. Ruby remains, like most of the color editions, an Eau de Toilette.
