L'Insoumis by Lalique, a concentrate of history
Today, the name Lalique is a prestigious reference throughout the world. This luxury house has been spreading the image of Paris across the planet for more than a century now. Yet, beyond the emblematic name of this great house, this surname resonates as the symbol of a talented and admirable family. The house of Lalique presents its very latest fragrance in tribute to the creator of the house, René Lalique. In his image, this fragrance is named L'Insoumis.
A tribute to René Lalique
Through the fragrance L'Insoumis, Lalique wanted to pay tribute to the man who breathed life into this creative spirit. René Lalique is one of the greatest creators of his era, whether as a jeweler or as a master glassmaker. He displayed a unique style, recognizable among all others. He spent his entire career evolving with the trends of his time. He left a particular mark on the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Moreover, it is precisely this style that is found in the bottle of L'Insoumis. He always championed the pursuit of beauty over refinement at any cost. He constantly said: Better the pursuit of beauty than the display of luxury. L'Insoumis is therefore a juice crafted with extreme simplicity. Its formula is rather authentic and classic, yet remains highly elegant. L'Insoumis is an absolutely harmonious fragrance, worthy of the finest creations of the man nicknamed the Poet of Glass. L'Insoumis is a juice halfway between the traditional era of René Lalique and our current trends. In this sense, it draws on a meaningful artistic heritage while transposing it into our contemporary mode.
L'Insoumis, a fragrance of authenticity
L'Insoumis is a juice designed for a charismatic, elegant and refined man. He does not seem to follow trends but rather creates them himself. This composition was created by the talented perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin. He incorporated rich ingredients into it, releasing multiple facets. The scent of L'Insoumis begins with a blend of bergamot, rum and basil. Thus, the gentle bitterness brushes against more aromatic tones. These merely open the way toward the heart of L'Insoumis. This heart is notably filled with lavender, one of the flagship ingredients of masculine perfumery. This Mediterranean plant is also paired with clary sage. Moreover, the whole is further tickled by the spicy presence of black pepper. The base of L'Insoumis then becomes more intense and woody. Its masculinity is expressed through Haitian vetiver and oakmoss. Molecules of white wood as well as patchouli in turn close out this composition. As for the bottle, L'Insoumis is housed in a case with a contemporary and Art Deco style. It is decorated with a fern motif typical of the house of Lalique, which first appeared on a vase in 1926. Undoubtedly, Lalique here brilliantly signs a fragrant concentrate of its history.
