See by Chloé, an eau de parfum launched in February 2013, is the first fragrance from Chloé’s diffusion line of the same name. Michel Almairac brings together bergamot, apple blossom, jasmine and ylang-ylang over a base of sandalwood, musk and vanilla, in a bell-shaped bottle that evokes a birdcage.
The house lists bergamot, apple blossom, jasmine, ylang-ylang, sandalwood, musk and vanilla. It mentions no amber, unlike the 2008 Chloé eau de parfum, presented at launch as an amber floral.
Apple and jasmine
Bergamot opens the fragrance on a tart green apple note, carried by apple blossom, with a light jasmine. Ylang-ylang joins the jasmine in the floral bouquet.
Sandalwood, musk and vanilla
The base pairs sandalwood and musk with a discreet vanilla. Both critics who judged it at launch noted a pale, musky wood, and one of them a milky, almost almond facet.
