The house of Van Cleef & Arpels is behind original creations such as the “zip necklace,” the 30.82-carat “Cœur Bleu” diamond, or the “Blue Princess” sapphire. In 1976, the jewelry house caused surprise by releasing its first perfume, “First.” In 2009, the house of Van Cleef & Arpels unveiled “Orchidée Vanille,” a fragrance from the “Collection Extraordinaire.”
Orchidée Vanille, a multifaceted vanilla with Van Cleef & Arpels
The jewelry house’s “Collection Extraordinaire” is intended to honor a noble and extraordinary ingredient. “Orchidée Vanille” is a fragrance of emotions, filled with enchantment and magic. The exoticism of vanilla is revealed here in all its facets. The perfumer who imagined “Orchidée Vanille” wanted to offer a fresh and sensual interpretation evoking an intoxicating oriental journey. With its highly pronounced carnal quality, “Orchidée Vanille” enhances the women who wear it. Elegant, soft and languorous, this fragrance is nothing if not gourmand. “Orchidée Vanille” seems to be an invitation to travel, a journey inspired by nature, a journey that carries us into the world of exotic sensuality.
The gourmand notes of the Orchidée Vanille perfume
Vanilla here is intensely addictive. Whatever facet it reveals to us, one cannot detach oneself from the scent of this same vanilla. Tender and warm, the vanilla here is accompanied by floral, fruity and woody notes, cradled by languorous musks. It is a perfumer who knows vanilla perfectly well, Randa Hammami, who created this composition. “Orchidée Vanille” opens with fruity notes, such as mandarin and lychee, which offer a foretaste of exoticism. In the heart, the vanilla is by turns soft, sweet, floral or fruity, blended with Bulgarian rose and violet flower. Finally, the base of “Orchidée Vanille” becomes powdery, sweet and gourmand, composed of tolu balsam, cedarwood and white musks. The iconic bottle resembles all the bottles of the “Collection Extraordinaire.” Rectangular in shape, it features an imposing glass. At the center, a sober embossed label indicates the name of the perfume as well as a number. This number corresponds to the trial number chosen by the house of Van Cleef & Arpels.
A wonderful chapter of the Collection Extraordinaire… Orchidée Vanille. Here, vanilla is honored and delivers its most intimate secrets. Its composition makes vanilla addictive like never before. Its notes, at once sweet, fruity and mellow, make “Orchidée Vanille” one of the most magical fragrances of the Collection Extraordinaire.
