The freshness of L'Homme Libre
To create L'Homme Libre, Yves Saint Laurent once again called on Olivier Polge, a perfumer already in charge of composing the first installment of this collection. However, for the occasion, he combined his expertise with the overflowing creativity of Carlos Benaïm. Together, they created a woody, aromatic juice. L'Homme Libre opens with an intense, citrus freshness emanating from Calabrian bergamot. This citrus fruit is paired here with the green, powdery facet of violet leaves. Basil and star anise, in turn, do not fail to reinforce the zest of the whole. Then, other spices come to reinforce the impertinence of this composition. L'Homme Libre releases a bold breath of nutmeg and pink pepper. Its woodier base then gradually emerges. The sillage of L'Homme Libre also contains patchouli and vetiver. These resins are also paired with leather, which only accentuates the sensuality of this extraordinary juice. Of course, L'Homme Libre also reclaims the bottle shape of its predecessor. We find its graphic shape, cylindrical at its base and octagonal at its cap. Its transparency evolves toward a darker blue. The whole is absolutely electrifying, echoed by its dip tube running through the bottle, resembling a large exclamation point.
