Where to buy
What is more, Yves Saint-Laurent keeps developing new variations of it, with the aim of keeping the legend alive. Likewise, the house stops at nothing when it comes to ambassadors, calling in turn on Garrett Hedlund, Vincent Cassel and, more recently, Vinnie Woolston. The focus is now on freshness. Yves Saint-Laurent's L'Homme becomes L'Homme Cologne Bleue.
Yves Saint-Laurent's L'Homme, the embodiment of a modernity with many faces
Yves Saint-Laurent's L'Homme made its very first appearance in 2006, revealing the pull of a man who is at once charismatic, bold and sensual. With him, everything is a matter of harmony. Yves Saint-Laurent's L'Homme is at once refined yet spontaneous, raw and precious. Its bottle also perfectly combines the industrial with elegance. From then on, Yves Saint-Laurent's L'Homme has stood as the symbol of a contemporary masculinity with a singular elegance. Yves Saint-Laurent's L'Homme is a modern, magnetic perfume, uncompromising. It has also already spawned multiple offshoots of its scent. In 2007 and 2008, it was reinvented in two light eaux for summer. In 2011, it became L'Homme Cologne Gingembre, showing a brighter freshness than before. L'Homme Parfum Intense from 2013 warmed things up with a more amber accord of cedar, benzoin and suede. L'Homme Sport gave us a genuine burst of vitality, while L'Homme Ultime played more on seduction. Let us now look at what L'Homme Cologne Bleue has to offer.
L'Homme Cologne Bleue, a bluish fragrance brimming with freshness
L'Homme Cologne Bleue is the very latest version of this great fragrance family. With this perfume, the idea is to embody the image of a modern man while drawing on the essences of yesterday. Indeed, at the start of the last century, men wore only Eaux de Cologne. L'Homme Cologne Bleue thus pays a nod to that bygone era. This contemporary perfume now comes in a bottle with clean lines. The visual of this bottle is familiar to the entire L'Homme Yves Saint-Laurent collection. L'Homme Cologne Bleue has kept its original shape while now revealing a very light blue fragrance that beautifully reveals the freshness of the perfume it contains. The whole is topped with the eternal silver hexagonal cabochon of Yves Saint-Laurent. L'Homme Cologne Bleue displays a style between classicism and avant-gardism. On the scent side, this is a fresh, aquatic essence composed by perfumer Juliette Karagueuzoglou. Its vivacity opens with a burst of citrus, and more specifically blood orange, grapefruit and mandarin. Bergamot also pairs with a marine accord and cardamom to amplify this effect. A hint of black pepper nevertheless warms the whole and gives more character to this perfume.

The advertising
The latest Yves Saint Laurent ad for L'Homme Cologne Bleue
Although Yves Saint-Laurent's L'Homme made its appearance in 2006, its renown seems simply timeless. This perfume already stands as a classic. Yves Saint-Laurent's L'Homme speaks to men in all their diversity. It is a perfume endowed with an uninhibited charm and an uncompromising virility. Yves Saint-Laurent's L'Homme carries within it a sensual, magnetic elegance that expresses itself differently in each of its olfactory variations. In 2018, it became L'Homme Cologne Bleue, offering a new freshness. For the occasion, it also comes with a new advertisement.
L'Homme Cologne Bleue, Yves Saint-Laurent's latest creation
With L'Homme Cologne Bleue, Yves Saint-Laurent firmly intends to bring a new wind of dynamism to its star fragrance. Guided by the aim to keep winning over an ever younger audience, Yves Saint-Laurent chose to stage a masculinity with multiple facets. On the olfactory side, this translates into an intense freshness. L'Homme Cologne Bleue opens on a cocktail of citrus, and more specifically blood orange, grapefruit, mandarin and bergamot. A marine accord also elevates the whole, while geranium, apple, thyme and lavender assert its character. Lastly, the whole rests on a base of cedar, patchouli and sandalwood. As for the bottle, Yves Saint-Laurent kept its emblematic bottle, but has now tinted it a particularly refreshing blue.
Vinnie Woolston and Cora Emmanuel, the sensual couple of L'Homme Cologne Bleue
For its new advertisement, Yves Saint-Laurent called on two faces of the campaign. On the men's side, it is once again Vinnie Woolston, a New Zealand top model. He is joined by a charming young woman, a Martinican model named Cora Emmanuel. Between the nonchalant attitude of this elusive man and the devastating gaze of this beautiful brunette, sensuality reaches its peak. The storyline of this new advertisement unfolds over a minute and thirty seconds, all set against a coastal backdrop. Cora Emmanuel first appears on a skateboard, following Vinnie Woolston's car along a cliffside. The two then meet at the heart of a barbershop before reaching the top of a building and its huge pool. This advertisement for L'Homme Cologne Bleue is set to the music of Five Minutes, a track by the band Her, and the whole is directed by Emily Kai Bock of the agency BETC Luxe. With this new episode, we continue to make L'Homme an iconic figure of masculine fragrances by anchoring the story and the brand in the present. It is largely thanks to this new generation of talents that we nurture the cultural aura of Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, comment Brune Buonomano, Managing Director of BETC Luxe, and Jasmine Loignon, Executive Creative Director of BETC Luxe. Lastly, the game of seduction between the two protagonists was also captured through the lens of New York photographer Billy Kidd. The magic works from the very first seconds, and the magnetic pull of this new perfume is thus perceptible directly through your screens!
