Le Male Elixir Absolu is the Parfum Intense that Jean Paul Gaultier added in 2025 to the Le Male line, composed by Quentin Bisch in the wake of Le Male Elixir. The house describes it as an aromatic spicy amber: a fleshy, spicy plum opens onto the emblematic lavender of the sailor, before an enveloping tonka bean. The golden torso, refillable, comes in 75, 125 and 200 ml.
Jean Paul Gaultier declares only three notes, in the order in which they assert themselves: plum, lavender and tonka bean. Wikiparfum counts twelve, without tiers, around the same trio. The house's breakdown is authoritative; the rest reads as supporting raw materials.
A fleshy, spicy plum
The opening is fruity, a fleshy plum heightened with spices, which the house describes as provocative and presents as the first thing one smells. Wikiparfum names the spices of this opening, cinnamon and cardamom, and adds a bergamot.
Lavender, the essence of the sailor
The heart returns to the lavender emblematic of Le Male, which the house says here reveals its essence, warming and caressing the skin. Wikiparfum pairs it with davana, fruity and syrupy, and artemisia, two herbs that extend the aromatic register of the original fougère.
Tonka bean and amber woods
Tonka bean closes the composition, exquisite according to the house, and gives the fragrance its longevity and density. Wikiparfum describes around it a resinous amber base, benzoin, labdanum cistus, patchouli and ambrette seed, which explains the fragrance's classification among the spicy ambers.
What remains outside the declared accord
Honey and tobacco, often attributed to Le Male Elixir, appear neither with the house nor with Wikiparfum for the Absolu. Vanilla and mint, readable in the ingredients list, are declared nowhere as notes.
What the label declares
The house's ingredients list is a full disclosure, opened by denatured alcohol, the word Parfum and water. The transparent wood of tetramethyl acetyloctahydronaphthalenes, linalyl acetate and linalool, molecules of lavender, coumarin and vanillin, accents of tonka bean, open the list.
Next come a bergamot peel oil, a lavender oil or extract, patchouli oil, a spearmint oil with its carvone, cinnamal from cinnamon, camphor and rose ketones. Sclareol, farnesol and hexamethylindanopyran anchor the musky, woody base.
A UV filter protects the color of the juice, which four colorants, yellow, red, violet and blue, tint amber. Limonene appears there under a Spanish spelling, characteristic of the house's lists, reproduced as is.
