L.12.12 Blanc Eau de Parfum was released in March 2021, ten years after the eau de toilette that opened the line and whose theme it revisits in denser form. Marie Salamagne and Ane Ayo composed it as an aromatic woody: Finger lime and cardamom at the opening, eucalyptus and pine, a base of cedar and balsam fir. The bottle echoes the small piqué pattern of the polo shirt.
Finger lime and cardamom
The announced opening rests on finger lime, an Australian citrus whose acidic pearls give a sharp attack, and on cardamom, which lays down a clear spice over it. The house expects an immediate freshness from it, without sweetness.
Eucalyptus and pine
The following register returns to eucalyptus and pine, two camphoraceous and resinous materials. They pull the fragrance toward green aromatic rather than citrus, and form the bridge to the woods of the base.
Cedar and balsam fir
The base brings together cedarwood and balsam fir, a conifer whose resin is softer and sweeter than that of pine. The house places here the comfort it claims for the whole composition.
What the label declares
The label publishes only the regulated allergens. Limonene, citral, citronellol and geraniol signal the citrus share of the finger lime; linalool carries a soft floral note that the woody accord did not suggest.
Alpha-isomethyl ionone adds a powdery iris, coumarin a sweetness of hay and almond. Neither eucalyptus nor cedar leaves a trace in this list, which records only the materials required for declaration.
