La Panthère Eau de Toilette
La Panthère de Cartier is now available as an Eau de Toilette. It all began with a piece of jewelry. After all, what could be more logical for a renowned jeweler? Nevertheless, when Cartier decided to expand its business into the perfumery sector, it created numerous bridges between these two creative worlds.

Where to buy
Thus, La Panthère, its longtime emblem, became a fragrance. For several years now, this olfactory feline has been taking on a new face. The year 2018 already promises to be a memorable one, with an emphasis placed on freshness. Offering itself a new clarity, La Panthère by Cartier becomes, this time, an Eau de Toilette.
La Panthère Eau de Toilette, a floral, fresh and chypre fragrance
The panther is, of all animals, the only one that naturally smells good, said Theophrastus. The panther exhales a scent that is pleasant to all other beasts, which is why it hunts by staying hidden and attracting its prey through its scent. Drawing inspiration from this naturally noble feline, Cartier chose to offer an absolute symbol of femininity. Like the panther lying in wait with its charm, the new Eau de Toilette by Cartier is intended for all of today’s irresistible creatures. This essence seems to hold within it all the charm of the animal kingdom. This floral fragrance with a wild spirit still rests on a chypre base. However, its breath appears airier and lighter. The animal seems to have gradually let itself be tamed. It glides subtly on the skin and reveals itself in a fresh floral bouquet of gardenia. This transparent plant is relayed by a softer, enveloping sillage of musk and sandalwood. The result is a light, refined femininity, endowed with a crystalline glow.
The iconic Cartier bottle returns in transparency
La Panthère Eau de Toilette is unveiled in Cartier’s iconic bottle. Because La Panthère likes to seduce by surprise, its silhouette is revealed through a bottle born of an unprecedented craftsmanship. Sculpted like a precious stone, this glass block displays a geometric shape that in fact conceals the sculpted image of an angular panther’s head. Its square jaw radiates immeasurable strength. Yet its juice is more transparent than before, revealing a more tender, crystalline fragility. The bottle of La Panthère Eau de Toilette is a true feat of technical skill.
The many reinterpretations of the La Panthère fragrance
It should be noted, however, that this is not the first reinterpretation of this famous fragrance. Since 2014, Mathilde Laurent, perfumer for Cartier, has enjoyed revealing multiple facets of its personality. At first, it was a floral, oriental and woody juice. Then, in 2014, La Panthère Extrait placed emphasis on its more animalic facets, enriching it with the nobility of iris. A year later, La Panthère Eau Légère accentuated its radiance with an addition of tiare flower. In 2016, La Panthère Edition Soir became more chypre, wrapped in oakmoss and a powdery animalic accord. Finally, the most recent one, La Panthère Noir Absolu, dared the contrast of gardenia with a more musky oud wood.
