La Nuit de L’Homme Eau de Parfum now refers to the ambery, spicy Eau de Parfum that Yves Saint Laurent sells under this name. Bergamot and a red apple accord open onto a red pepper and tobacco accord, set on amber notes. The line’s bottle turns red. It replaces a first Eau de Parfum of this name, built on cardamom, sandalwood and leather.
The house details the current version tier by tier. Zesty bergamot blends at the top with a tangy red apple accord; the heart makes the red pepper accord burst against the tobacco accord; at the base, amber notes extend the whole.
The red pepper and the amber notes remain accords, described by their effect more than by a material: the house specifies neither the species of pepper nor the ingredients that make up its amber.
The former formula
The first Eau de Parfum of this name rested on a different structure. It kept the ambery, spicy accord of cardamom and tonka bean that belongs to the Eau de Toilette and enriched it with a woody accord of sandalwood, patchouli, sage and leather; an essence of grapefruit lifted the cardamom.
At the time, the house highlighted its sandalwood and patchouli essences. Its new formula no longer mentions cardamom or leather: red pepper and tobacco take their place at the center of the composition.
