Christian Dior, a native of the Grasse region, acquired the property of his dreams, La Colle Noire, in 1951. A small Provençal gem, Christian Dior's residence was the setting for all his fragrant and stylistic inspirations, though it was left abandoned after his untimely death in 1957. Restored in the 2010s to stay as close as possible to the couturier's tastes, La Colle Noire once again became the stronghold of the house of Dior. Deeply attached to its historical heritage and to its beloved founder Christian Dior, the perfume house never tires of seeking to express its most beautiful memories of the past through precious scents. As La Colle Noire, Christian Dior's famous property, regained its former splendor and its magnificent flowers of days gone by, François Demachy wanted to dedicate a perfume to this celebration.
For Christian Dior, La Colle Noire is far more than a simple building. It is a refuge where he can contemplate his gardens abloom with a thousand essences, where he can enjoy the Grasse sunshine and the fresh water fountains, without having to worry about appearances or what people might say.
This house, I would like it to be my true home. The one where — if God grants me a long life — I could retire. [...] The one where I could finally live in peace, forgetting Christian Dior to simply become Christian again, attributed to Christian Dior, Dior et moi.
La Colle Noire would also become a meeting place for a multitude of artists, all drawn by the beauty of the setting as much as by the genius of its master. Inspired by the tranquility of his retreat, it is said that he created many couture collections there, including the famous Miss Dior.

La Colle Noire opens on an absolute of May rose, the thousand-petaled Centifolia rose, immediately transporting us into Christian Dior's lost paradise. A citrus note lends vitality and dynamism to the beautiful lady of the gardens with her mimosa scent. Then, at the heart, delicate peony and lily of the valley flowers mingle with the velvety fruity scents of blackcurrant, raspberry and peach. Clove announces the resounding entrance of La Colle Noire's amber and woody depths, where Sri Lankan sandalwood and oud wood vie boldly to make us melt with delight. And the softness of white musks lies in wait, and we are captured. La Colle Noire encloses us within its paradise, where the rose is musky and powerful.
