Launched in 2016 in La Collection Privée Christian Dior, La Colle Noire bears the name of the château Christian Dior bought in the early 1950s in the Pays de Fayence, near Grasse. François Demachy built it on the May rose; today the house describes a plump, piquant rose, knotted with spices and woods over a patchouli base.

At its release in 2016, Dior offered La Colle Noire in 125, 250 and 450 ml, sizes that Jeanne Doré notes. The current bottle comes in 50, 100 and 200 ml: that of La Collection Privée, which the house describes as drawn in pure lines.
Since February 2025, Journal du Luxe reports, fifteen couture caps can dress the stopper of the 100 and 200 ml bottles of the collection, launched in 2004. Dior draws them from its motifs: cannage, toile de Jouy, Plan de Paris, Mitzah, houndstooth and Dior Oblique.
For the collection, the house offers a refillable travel spray, black or silver, to slip into couture sleeves, and hand-embroidered trunks sized for the 100 and 200 ml bottles.
